ONALASKA – The Aberdeen Wings have bounced around the bottom of the NAHL Central Division for most of this season, but they seem to save their best for the Coulee Region Chill.

Frederick Leisner stopped 33 shots and led the Wings past the Chill 5-1 Friday at the OmniCenter.

Aberdeen (14-20-3) and Leisner are 4-1 against Coulee Region.

The Chill (20-13-4) hurt themselves by going 0-for-6 on the power play.

Aberdeen took a 2-0 lead 5½ minutes into the second period on goals by Louis Educate and Tyler Poulsen before the Chill's Connor Gaarder made it 2-1 at the 8:03 mark. It was Gaarder's 17th goal of the season and 42nd point.

It was all Wings after that, as Aberdeen scored three times in the third against Coulee Region goaltender Aaron Davis (21 saves).

The teams play again at 7 p.m. today at the OmniCenter.
