Road series leaves Chill with two losses before weekend on home ice

The Chill traveled north this past weekend for a pair of games against the Minnesota Wilderness. Friday night’s contest was a quiet an affair with the Chill only recording one penalty. The Wilderness seemed to have the shooter’s touch more than Coulee Region recording 3 goals to the Chill’s third period score off the stick of Caleb Schroer (Decker, Sofo). The following night’s game started with a bang as Joey Sofo (Schroer, Duma) put the puck in the net within the first minute of the game. Sofo (Quagliata, Dineen) scored his second of the evening to put the Chill up 2-1 in the second period. Four consecutive goals from the Wilderness, though, sent the final score to 5-2.

The Chill will return home this coming weekend to turn around their recent fortunes in a pair of games against the division rival Minnesota Magicians. The Chill hold a 3-4 record against the Midwest Division’s second place team and will fight to hold onto their position in the final playoff spot in the division. The puck will drop at 7:00 p.m. both Friday and Saturday night at Green Island Ice Arena in a crucial weekend for the Chill’s playoff push.
