ABERDEEN, N.D. — Chris Hughes put the Coulee Region Chill hockey team up 1-0 15:12 into the first period Saturday.
Four Chill goals later — all by different players — Hughes scored again, capping a 7-0 run that doesn’t happen often in hockey, leading the Chill to a 9-2 victory over Aberdeen.
David Ripple finished with a hat trick, while Lucas Dillon and Zac Frischmon each had two goals and an assist for the Chill, who have won three of their past four games.
Connor Gaarder and Berkley Scott each had three assists for Coulee Region (22-13-4), which is three points back of division-leading Owatonna (23-14-5) with 18 games left.
Paul Moberg saved 29 Aberdeen (13-23-3) shots for the Chill, who were 1-for-3 on the power play but had two shorthanded goals.
