Chill regain footing with a win in Austin after finishing their series against Janesville

With the final game of a five-game series against the Janesville Jets, the Chill kept close until the third period. A late-first-period goal from Steven Quagliata (McGlynn, Dineen) answered two Janesville scores. The 2-1 score held until Christian Stevens (Duma, Ebner) opened the third period with a game-tying goal. From then on, however, the Chill struggled, letting in four Jets goals in the following six minutes to lead to a 6-2 final score.

On Saturday, the Chill took to Austin in what was a penalty-ridden matchup between the two teams. Joe Marcoullier stepped into the goal for the Chill for his first start since November 12 (IR) and let in only a single goal (on 8 penalty kills.) The high-tension game seemed to kickstart the Chill offense that managed to put in four goals. Caleb Schroer (Duma, Quagliata) and Joey Sofo (Falconer, Quagliata) made noise for the Chill in the second period while Billy Duma (Donovan, McGlynn) and Steven Quagliata (Schroer, Duma) clinched the game in the third. The Chill was victorious with a 4-1 road win.

The Chill will return home for two games against the Springfield Jr. Blues on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Coulee Region is 2-2 against Springfield so far this season but has yet to host the Jr. Blues. Springfield sits 2 points ahead of the Chill in the Midwest Division standings and will offer the Chill the chance to regain their position in 3rd place in the division. Puck drop Saturday night will be at 7 p.m. and Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
