The Coulee Region squad made the trip over to Austin this past Friday night where they fell to the Bruins 2-6. Despite heating up in the third period with two short handed Isaac Theisen goals (List) (Shroer, Decker), Joe Marcoullier was given the loss on the road. Seeking payback the following night at home, however, the Chill offense fired on all cylinders to dominate the Bruins by putting in five goals before an Austin score brought the final score to 5-1. Jacob Schmidt-Svejstrup (Doran, Dineen) opened the scoring that was followed up by a Justin Kendall (Decker, List) goal in the second. The floodgates opened in the third period with Joey Sofo (List, McGlynn), Taylor Trapp (Doran, Ebner), and Caleb Schroer (Kendall, Doran) joining the goal party in the game’s final period. Brad Arvanitis was awarded the win with 32 saves on 33 shots.
The Chill start their home and home series with the Jets on home ice Friday night at 7:00 at Green Island Ice Arena.
