Last Friday’s contest between the Coulee Region Chill and the Minnesota Magicians came right down to the wire, as the Chill were able to hold on for a 4-3 road victory in Richfield. Goalie Joe Marcoullier saved 30 of 33 shots in the contest. Four different Chill players scored in the game, the deciding goal coming early in the third period from new Chill forward Trenton Bliss. Magicians forward Cameron Buhl scored midway through the third to bring the game within one, but the Chill held on to cement the win.
Saturday’s matchup was an OT thriller as the Chill fell to the Janesville Jets but secured a point in the process. Jets defenseman Adam Roeder scored the winning goal early in the overtime period on an assist from forward Adrian Holesinsky. Chill forward Caleb Schroer recorded his fourth and fifth goals of the season and added an assist.
Chill Prepare for Home Opener vs. the Austin Bruins
The Coulee Region Chill will return to the friendly confines of the Green Island Ice Arena this Saturday as they take on the Austin Bruins. It will be the home opener for the Chill who will look to defend home ice for the first time this season. The Chill feature a trio of talented forwards (Schroer, Dineen, and Falconer) who will look to continue their impressive starts to the young season going. Goalie Joe Marcoullier will look to stifle the Bruins who boast their own talented forwards in Andrew Bellant (18 pts) and Mika George (17 pts).
