Chill Fall to Peoria In 1st Playoff Game

The Chill played their first playoff game against Peoria on the road. However, the game did not go as planned for the Chill against the #4 seed. The beginning of the game was a back and forth battle until midway through the first, when the Chill get on the board with a goal from Flavien Fondadouze to make it 1-0 (Donny Schultz, Gadel Khismatullin). The Chill would head to the first intermission with the lead. The second period would see an early goal from Peoria’s top line on the power play to tie it up 1-1. Two minutes later the Chill would regain their lead with a goal from Keaton Caplis with help from Flavien Fondadouze and Chase McLaughlin to make it 2-1. Shortly after, the Mustangs would tie it up once again with a shorthanded goal. The two teams would start getting a little chippy as tensions rose. The Chill would remain tied at 2-2 heading into the second intermission. Things got even more heated as the third period started and Peoria would make it 3-2 with 5 minutes remaining in the final period. In the last minute of the game, Chill goalie Devin Naidow makes his way to the bench to give the Chill the extra attacker in hopes to tie it up once again but the Mustangs would take possession of the puck and score on the empty net to make it 4-2. Peoria would get the victory in game 1.  Chill will be back on home ice tomorrow night to seek revenge as they seek another trip to the Fraser Cup!
