Chill and Magicians split weekend set, Bruins up next

A Friday-night thriller saw a back-and-forth game between the Coulee Region Chill and Minnesota Magicians. Caleb Schroer (McGlynn, List) closed out the first period with a goal after a pair of Magician power play goals to start the game. Matt Doran (Schroer, McGlynn) and Isaac Theisen (Plunkett) kept the momentum going to put the Chill up 3-2 before another Minnesota goal tied the game going into the third. Alex Falconer (Plunkett, Martin) and Kevin Dineen (Doran, Quagliata) added two more goals to put the game out of reach before a final Magician goal left the final score as a 5-4 Chill victory. Joe Marcoullier got the win for the Chill stopping 44 of 48 shots.

The following night saw only a single goal from Joey Sofo (Schroer, Donovan) despite Coulee Region’s 41 shots on the evening including 17 in the third period. Three Minnesota goals evened out the weekend series with a 3-1 Chill loss.

This coming weekend sees a home and home series as the Chill travel to Austin Friday night to back to Green Island on Saturday night with a 7:00 puck drop at Green Island Ice Arena.
