Batcha’s two goals lift Chill over Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Jakob Batcha scored two goals and assisted on another on Friday night, powering the Coulee Region Chill to a 3-1 victory over the Aberdeen Wings at the Odde Ice Center.

Batcha’s goal at 4:19 of the second period, on assists by Jake Useldinger and Eric Drapluk, broke a 1-1 tie.

Batcha scored unassisted at 11:06 of the third period to give the Chill (22-13-4, 48 points) a two-goal lead. 

The Chill are in second place in the NAHL Central Division, three points back of first-place Owatonna.

Zach Frischmon opened the scoring for Coulee Region at 14:54 in the first period. Batcha had the assist.

The Wings (13-23-3, 29 points) tied it at 19:01 of the opening period on Cody Marooney’s goal. Blaik Doombos and C.J. Pullar had assists.

Coulee Region goalie Paul Moberg stopped 37 of 38 shots.  Frederick Leisner had 37 saves for Aberdeen.

The teams meet again at 8 p.m. today in Aberdeen.
