Penalties hurt Chill in loss to Owatonna

ONALASKA – The Coulee Region Chill lost their cool Saturday night, taking 

14 penalties for 44 minutes, including two 10-minute

misconduct calls, and lost to the Owatonna Express 4-3 at the OmniCenter in front of a crowd of 317.

Owatonna went 3-for-10 on the power play, and Nick Widing scored the game-winning goal on a

5-on-3 advantage at 13:43 of the second period.

The Express (21-12-4) solidified their lead in the Central Division with 46 points and lead Bismarck and Coulee Region (19-11-4) by four points.

The Chill have lost three straight after Owatonna's two-game sweep.

Coulee Region also had success on the power play, going 3-for-7, as Micky Knox, Connor Gaarder and Jakob Batcha, acquired Jan. 5 from Fargo (USHL) scored .
