Drought Hits 8 Plus Periods

Two weekends ago the Chill had a tale of two nights against the Springfield Jr. Blues, winning the first one 5-3 and losing the 2nd 7-1. Coming into Runestone Community Center this past Friday they had hoped that they would duplicate their Friday night effort and not the Saturday night loss. Aaron Davis made stop after stop in the 1st period and more of the same in the second, until Seth Ronsberg score just over 13 minutes into the 2nd period putting the Blizzard up 1-0. The Chill out shot Alex in the 3rd period but were once again shut out by Jake Myers, for the 3rd time this season.

Saturday night Alexandria got one in the 1st by Tommy Williams and then blew out the Chill in the 2nd with 6 more goals making it 7-0 after 2 periods. Aaron Davis would take the bench in the 3rd and David Heflin gave up 3 more goals to the Blizzard for a 10-0 loss and the scoring drought has now reached 8 periods. The Chill have been outscored 19-1 over the last 3 games and it was clear that the offense truly missed the prescence of David Ripple (knee) and Pat Steinhauser went out in the 1st period with a high ankle sprain.

It won't get any easier for the Chill this Friday & Saturday night in Austin against the Bruins, who have defeated the Chill in all 3 meetings this season.
