Chill surge past Aberdeen in front of packed house

ONALASKA – Lucas Dillon scored twice and Paul Moberg stopped 23 shots as the Coulee Region Chill beat the Aberdeen Wings 6-1 on Saturday in front of a franchise-record crowd of 1,204 at the OmniCenter.

Coulee Region (21-12-4) finally figured out Aberdeen goalie Frederick Leisner, who entered the game 4-1 against the Chill.

Led by Dillon, Berkely Scott (goal, assist) and Zac Frischmon (two assists), Coulee Region knocked Leisner out of the game late in the second period after scoring five goals on 34 shots.

The Chill outshot Aberdeen (13-21-3) 43-24.

Coulee Region also was sharp on special teams, going 2-for-5 on the power play while holding Aberdeen to 0-for-6.

Dillon opened the scoring at 4:18 of the first as the Chill jumped out to a 3-1 lead. Dillon added his second of the game and 18th of the season in the third period.
