Chill Rebound Saturday Night With 6-3 Win In Aberdeen

The Coulee Region Chill have gone through some growing pains this season and the first steps with Interim Head Coach A.J. Degenhardt on Friday night got off to an exciting start as Hunter Anderson scored just 39 seconds into the game against Brookings and then Cory Lushanko added a 2nd just shy of 4 minutes later for a 2-0 lead. Unfortunately for A.J. and the Chill, the Blizzard came down hard on the Coulee Region evening the score by the end of the 1st 2-2 and then added 5 more goals and out shooting the CRC 57-27.

Saturday the Chill made their first 2013 appearance at Odde Ice Center in Aberdeen, with a lead in the season series 3-1. Three first period goals for the Chill were unanswered this time as Lushanko, Lovick & Williams each tallied once. Then Jesse Tredinnick scored towards the end of the 2nd period to give the Chill a 4-0 lead, until Jon Grebosky scored a late PPG for the Wings to make 5-1 Chill after 2. The CRC would add two more goals in the third period, one from Garrett Hendrickson and Mac Jansen for the 6th after 2 Wings goals to give Interim Head Coach A.J. Degenhardt his first victory in the NAHL.

Chill netminder Blake Cates rebounded from a tough one on Friday night where he gave up 7 goals on 57 shots, to a night where he stopped 42 of 45 on net. Matt Williams came up big on the night with a goal and 2 assists, Garrett Hendrickson 1 goal, 2 assists. Lushanko, Lovick & Tredinnick each with 1 goal &assist as well.

The Coulee Region Chill find themselves 16 points out of a playoff spot in the Central right now with 26 games remaining in the season and will face the team that they need to beat to get back in the playoffs conversation in Minot this weekend at the Omni Center on Friday & Saturday.
